East San Gabriel Valley Area Plan
On October 6, 2015 the Board of Supervisors adopted the Los Angeles County General Plan 2035 which established a Planning Areas Framework that provides a mechanism to develop plans that respond to local communities’ unique and diverse character. An area plan will be prepared or updated for each of the County’s eleven Planning Areas and will provide opportunities to update local planning tools such as community plans, specific plans and community standards districts. The East San Gabriel Valley Area Plan (Area Plan) will be the first area plan prepared under the Planning Area Framework. The Area Plan will be a long term plan that establishes land development goals, policies and implementation programs specific to the unincorporated communities located in East San Gabriel Valley.
Public participation is essential to the planning process. The Department of the Regional Planning will be reaching out to the East San Gabriel Valley communities to identify the area’s issues and opportunities, develop a vision for the planning area, provide feedback on the draft plan and comment on the project’s Environmental Impact Report (“EIR”).
