Recirculated Draft Program Environmental Impact Report – Public Review Period

The Department of Regional Planning, acting as the lead agency pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act, is recirculating the Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Los Angeles County Revised Draft 2045 Climate Action Plan. The DEIR is now available for review by interested parties. The public review period begins on March 30, 2023 and will end on May 15, 2023 5:00 PM. Separate comment letters for the Recirculated Draft Program EIR and Revised Draft 2045 CAP reviews are requested during submission.

Revised Draft 2045 Climate Action Plan – Public Review Period

The Revised Draft 2045 CAP is now available for public review. Comments received from the previous public review in 2022 were considered during the revision process. The Revised Draft 2045 CAP achieves substantial GHG emission reductions through strategies, measures, and actions for years 2030, 2035, and 2045.

The public review period begins on March 16, 2023 and will end on May 15, 2023. Please submit your comments via email to: climate@planning.lacounty.gov

Draft Programmatic EIR - Public Review Period

Department of Regional Planning, acting as the lead agency pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act, completed a Draft Program Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Los Angeles County Draft 2045 Climate Action Plan. The DEIR was available for review by interested parties. The initial public comment period for the DEIR was from May 25 to July 8, 2022 5:00 PM. The comment period was extended to and ended on July 18, 2022 12:00 PM. Separate comment letters for the Draft Program EIR and Draft 2045 CAP reviews were requested during submission.

Draft 2045 Climate Action Plan - Public Review Period

Department of Regional Planning is continuing to work on updating the Climate Action Plan (CAP) for the unincorporated areas of the County. Initial feedback was collected in 2020 and has been incorporated into the latest draft version of the CAP update, known as the Draft 2045 CAP. The Draft 2045 CAP achieves substantial GHG emission reductions by including specific strategies, measures, and actions for years 2030 and 2035, and an aspirational goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045.

The initial public comment period for the Draft 2045 CAP was from April 25 to July 8, 2022. The comment period was extended to and ended on July 18, 2022 12:00 PM. Comments were submitted via email to climate@planning.lacounty.gov. Separate comment letters for the Draft Program EIR and Draft 2045 CAP reviews were requested during submission.

Virtual Community Workshop - May 11, 2022

Community members attended a virtual community workshop on May 11, 2022, to learn how previous feedback contributed to the Draft 2045 CAP, share input on CAP priorities, and find out about next steps for this project.

2045 CAP Community Survey - Closed

We launched the 2045 CAP Community Survey to gather your feedback on which future climate actions you think need to be prioritized to reduce GHG emissions. EIR Notice of Preparation - Public Review Period

The County invited interested parties to provide written comments as to your specific concerns about the project’s potential environmental effects. A 30-day review period started on January 3, 2022, and ended on February 1, 2022, 5:00 PM.
