The Housing Ordinances Update (HOU) responds to recent changes in State housing law that require Los Angeles County to update its local regulations. To implement these requirements, the County is proposing amendments to Title 21 (Subdivisions) and Title 22 (Planning and Zoning) of the Los Angeles County Code. The HOU also includes focused local changes intended to reflect current conditions in unincorporated communities. The proposed changes include:

• Technical revisions to permitting procedures and development standards.
• Updates that support the preservation of housing, promote fair housing practices, and allow for a broader range of housing types.
