In case you missed it, the LA County Zoning Code, also known as Title 22, got a makeover! This makeover is considered a Technical Update to the Zoning Code. It was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on January 29, 2019 and became effective on February 28, 2019.
What did the Technical Update do?
The Technical Update reorganized, clarified and simplified the readability of the Zoning Code. Essentially, it’s the same Code language in a new, easy-to-use format. As a result, all of the Code section numbers have changed. Visit planning.lacounty.gov/tu to read more about the update process.
How did this impact my community’s proposed Community Standards District (CSD)?
There is NO impact to your community’s pending CSD proposals. The changes adopted with the Technical Update affect existing CSDs, which include Acton, Elizabeth Lake and Lake Hughes, Juniper Hills, Leona Valley, and the Southeast Antelope Valley.
For those communities we are working to update or develop a new CSD, you have not missed the boat. We are continuing to work with your community for your new or CSD update.
Where can I find the new Title 22?
LA County’s online publisher, MuniCode, is in the process of uploading the new Title 22 to a web format. This will take some time, so we have provided links to all of the Code sections at planning.lacounty.gov/title22. The Community Standards Districts can be found under Volume II.
