San Fernando Valley
Area Plan

Welcome to the project site for the San Fernando Valley Area Plan!

The unincorporated areas of the Los Angeles County are governed by a document containing a set of goals and policies to guide future development called the Los Angeles County General Plan. The unincorporated communities in Los Angeles County are unique; they have their own individual needs and issues. Therefore, the Planning Area Framework of the General Plan divides the County into 11 Planning Areas.

To implement the General Plan, we are developing individual area plans for each of the Planning Areas which will contain focused goals and policies specific to each area. This project will be focused on the development of an area plan for the unincorporated areas in the San Fernando Valley. Please visit the Communities page for more information on the individual community efforts.
