Universal Studios
Specific Plan

The NBC Universal Evolution Plan is a comprehensive planning and development effort. The Evolution Plan includes additions to the existing studio, theme park, retail and entertainment uses including CityWalk, and the introduction of new hotels on approximately 391 acres in the Universal City area.

The Universal Studios Specific Plan was created for the portions of the Evolution Plan Site within the County and allows for the expansion of existing facilities as well as the addition of new entertainment, studio, retail, hotel, and office uses. If fully built out as planned, up to approximately 1.89 million square feet of net new commercial development may be added including new studio, entertainment, retail, hotel, office, and related space. A second area encompasses those portions of the Evolution Plan Site within the City. This area of the project site consists of the development in the City including approximately 363,000 square feet of studio and studio office uses, and a 500 room hotel.
