The LA County Board of Supervisors adopted an Anti-Racist Los Angeles County policy agenda. This action recognized, affirmed, and declared that racism is a matter of public health in the County.
We acknowledge that as a County agency, we serve the most populous and diverse county in the nation. We have an opportunity to change the narrative on our role and relationship to the communities we serve. Our work will have far-reaching impacts on lives, particularly on land use, housing, health, infrastructure, and environmental protections. Many of the inequities our work addresses, are the result of systemic racism and discrimination. We stand against racism in any form and pledge to advance racial and social equity, diversity, and fairness.
Our 2023 Strategic Plan for Equity emphasizes diversity, equity, and inclusion. It also recognizes that our work needs to address our society’s systemic challenges.

The event included presentations from LA County Planning staff on projects and initiatives that incorporate equity, followed by a moderated discussion and Q&A.
