LA County

Welcome to Climate Action, Los Angeles County!

In response to the California Global Warming Solutions Act (AB32), in 2015 the County of Los Angeles adopted its first Climate Action Plan (CAP) as part of the County’s General Plan update. This plan is due to sunset in 2020 and the Department of Regional Planning, in collaboration with the County’s Chief Sustainability Office, is hard at work updating the CAP and taking it through the adoption process.

Called the OurCounty CAP, this new plan follows on the heels of the Board of Supervisors’ adoption of the OurCounty Sustainability Plan on August 6, 2019. The OurCounty CAP will include an updated greenhouse gas inventory for the unincorporated area communities and provides a roadmap for climate action and reducing greenhouse gas emissions resulting from existing community activities. We will be taking this plan to the Board for adoption before the end of 2020.
