CicLAvia: Heart of the Foothills

This past Sunday, which also happened to be Earth Day, our team was out in San Dimas at CicLAvia- Heart of the Foothills. This all-day event closed off streets through the Cities of Claremont, Pomona, La Verne, and San Dimas, providing open streets for people to walk, run, bike, and skate through East San Gabriel Valley (ESGV) communities. It was great to see so many people being active in their community. Special shout-out to those Acai Bowls for sale at the hub… a major refresher for our team on a warm San Dimas day!

At our booth in the San Dimas hub, we spoke with several ESGV-ers (we’re coining the term) about the East San Gabriel Valley Area Plan, including our new survey and map.social app. We also had information about the Department of Regional Planning’s Significant Ecological Areas (SEA) Program, which helps conserve genetic and physical diversity within LA County by designating sustainable biological resource areas.
