LA County Planning provides GIS data germane to the county’s unincorporated areas in downloadable and web consumable formats. We update layers and add new layers as available. Data is provided to the public at no cost whenever possible. Licensing restrictions, privacy concerns, or third-party ownership of data are potential reasons for otherwise not sharing it publicly. Our list of open data is below.
The Enterprise GIS Hub (eGIS Hub) is where our layers listed above are available for download. “File Formats” links direct to each layer’s downloadable formats in the eGIS Hub. Alternatively, “Web Service” links direct to each layer’s item details page in ArcGIS Online where the service URL can be copied to add it to a web map. Please note that the hub hosts GIS Open Data for all participating county departments.
The LA County Tree Hub is the centralized repository for urban forestry layers, canopy datasets, and applications that were made available for public access and analysis. The hub hosts both blanket data, which provides uniform countywide tree coverage, and quilt data, which stitches together highly detailed, hyper-local tree data at the community level. Please note that LA County Tree Hub data is gathered across multiple county departments and working groups rather than a single agency.
