2026 ADU Ordinance Amendment

Overview

As California’s housing laws continue to evolve, LA County Planning is updating the Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Ordinance. The 2026 ADU Ordinance Amendment clarifies the relationship between County policy and State law and implements State-granted authority to limit ADUs on certain subdivided lots, creating a more predictable permitting pathway for unincorporated communities.
