Rezoning will be implemented through community-based plans, including the East San Gabriel Valley Area Plan, Metro Area Plan, and Florence-Firestone Transit-Oriented District Specific Plan.

    Gateway Rezoning Program

The Gateway Planning Area is located in the south-eastern portion of Los Angeles County. This area is undergoing a rezoning program to allow for more housing, as required by State law. This will ensure the availability of residential sites, at adequate densities and with appropriate development standards, in the unincorporated areas to accommodate LA County’s fair share of the regional housing need.
