Update of AV CSDs Project and Department of Regional Planning Operations During COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Emergency

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to fill out our updated SURVEY on communications preferences during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) epidemic by Thursday, April 9.

During these unprecedented times, we at the Department of Regional Planning want to assure our constituents that the public’s health and the health of our staff is our main priority. Our department continues to work closely with local, regional, and State officials to ensure we are implementing the most effective policies to protect and promote health during this time.

On March 15, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, following an announcement by
California Governor Gavin Newsom, announced that all Los Angeles County facilities will
be closed to members of the public indefinitely beginning Monday, March 16, in
response to the evolving coronavirus emergency.

On March 19, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors announced, following the direction of Governor Newsom, that Los Angeles County would implement the Safer at Home order in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

In compliance with the orders, all Department of Regional Planning offices remain closed to members of the public at this time and all staff are teleworking (working from home). We intend to continue our full dedication to existing projects, including the AV CSDs.  Given that and the restrictions on in-person meetings, we are currently looking for alternative ways of engaging everyone during this time, including virtual meetings, teleconferences, and webinars, where possible.

In addition, our Antelope Valley Field Office services remain available by email to Tina Carlon @ ccarlon@planning.lacounty.gov, Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

This photo was shared with us by a generous community member and lifted our spirits. It’s a great reminder of the beauty of Spring in the Antelope Valley. We wish we were out there enjoying those pretty poppies with all of you. Please feel free to share any of your community photos with us and we will do our best to incorporate them where possible!

Be well!
