AV CSDs: When?

This is the fourth in a series of blog posts that will cover the basics of the Antelope Valley Community Standards Districts (AV CSDs) Update Project.

Now that we know more about the scope of the AV CSDs update project, who is involved, and who is potentially affected, we will try and answer the question of timing and schedules.

There are currently 14 proposed new or updated CSDs in this project, which has multiple milestone and phases: the Concept Draft, the Open House Draft, and the Regional Planning Commission (RPC) Draft. Some communities have already completed their concept draft, which are available for public comment. The majority of communities are still meeting with us to discuss what changes should be included in the CSD update.

You may have seen the following timeline below.

Timeline for AVCSDs Project

This timeline is meant to estimate the project and deliverable timelines for the first phase of the AV CSDs Update Project. We hope to finalize the initial Concept Drafts by the end of October, and hope to hold an Open House in the Summer of 2019. Our first public hearing at the Regional Planning Commission is tentatively planned for late 2019.

Those changes that are not able to be made in time for the first phase of the project may still be included in subsequent phases. Within each major milestone are multiple smaller milestones, such as County review, or public review of draft documents, and internal and external consultations.

In short, we have a great deal of work ahead of us, but we hope to get it all by 2020!
