Altadena Listening Session

LA County Planning and participating agencies would like to invite Altadena community members to a series of three listening sessions that cover topics related to projects currently underway. The session topics and dates are as follows:

  1. Economic Development – Saturday 9/19
  2. Land Use/Zoning – Saturday 10/17
  3. Infrastructure – Saturday 12/12

LA County staff will provide information on existing or proposed Altadena-related programs and projects, listen to and gather community feedback, seek to better understand community needs and interests, and brainstorm how to address those needs and interests. The first session will be focused on Economic Development and related projects and programs. 

Meeting Location: The Collaboratory (540 W Woodbury Rd).

Meeting Format: The sessions will involve two parts:

  1. Brief presentations on County programs/efforts relevant to Altadena and
  2. Small table group discussions to receive feedback and listen to the attendees’ interests, needs and concerns through discussion questions.

The brief presentations on County programs/efforts will be aimed at assisting with Economic Development-related needs and interests. Presenters will provide the essential information attendees will need to understand the programs/efforts and provide a basis for small group discussion to better assess community members’ needs.

  2. Main Session Introduction
  3. Economic Development – County Informational Presentations
    • Streamlined Alcoholic Beverage Sales Ordinance (LA County Planning)
    • Altadena Concierge Program, SmallBIZ Permit Express Program, and other programs (LA County Department of Economic Opportunity)
  4. Brief Q&A after County presentations
  5. Small Group Break-Out Discussions to inform Economic Development-related projects and programs
  6. County/State Agency & Organization Tabling, 12:00-12:30pm
