Bridge Fire Assistance
Overview
On September 10, 2024, the LA County Board of Supervisors declared a local emergency for the Bridge Fire. This declaration allows LA County to use all necessary resources towards the impacted unincorporated communities of Wrightwood and Mt. Baldy. For maps of affected areas and LA County recovery assistance, please visit https://recovery.lacounty.gov/bridgefire/
Disaster Recovery
LA County’s Disaster Recovery Ordinance allows for temporary housing and accessory structures on properties that contained a legally established single-family residence, accessory dwelling unit, caretaker’s residence, or farmworker dwelling unit.
The Ordinance also allows for like-for-like replacements to aid repairing or rebuilding buildings and structures damaged or destroyed by a disaster.
Rebuild Process
To begin the rebuild process, it is important to know which planning department is responsible for reviewing and approving your application. LA County Planning is your planning department if you are located in an LA County unincorporated community. To learn if LA County is your planning department, please use our Jurisdiction Lookup Tool (scroll to the bottom of the website) at https://planning.lacounty.gov/
For information about LA County Planning Bridge Fire assistance, please see the Bridge Fire Recovery Information Sheet.
