Join us for a Special Presentation on 5/27

Please join us virtually on Wednesday, May 27, at 9:00am for a presentation on youth engagement in the East San Gabriel Valley. The Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning partnered with the Y-Plan to provide an opportunity for students to share their ideas for a better future.

Over the course of the past school year, students at Rowland High School learned about planning and participated in activities that helped them think about how to make their community a more vibrant, healthy, and joyful place to live in. Their in-class learning was facilitated by the Y-Plan, a program from the Center for Cities and Schools at the University of California, Berkeley, that empowers young people to tackle real-world problems in their communities through project-based civic learning experiences. Thanks to a sponsorship from Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, the students worked with the Y-Plan to identify areas of need in the community and their ideas for improvement. Feedback from students will help inform the goals, policies and implementation actions of the East San Gabriel Valley Area Plan.
