Last week, planners joined the LA County Library and Fonografia Collective at the Sunkist Library in La Puente to collect personal stories and histories of the East San Gabriel Valley Planning Area. The project, titled “A People’s Map”, is part of a community engagement effort led by Fonografia. The team is comprised of Ruxandra Guidi and Roberto Guerra who have years of experience curating storytelling projects throughout LA County. During the event, stakeholders were interviewed and shared insight on some of the challenges and opportunities in the community as well as local knowledge and favorite gems within the region.
