Plans & Ordinances
The Department of Regional Planning is continually updating our existing long range plans and working on amendments to our existing ordinance for approval by the RPC and Board of Supervisors on subjects such as ecological areas, senior citizen housing, parking, etc. In addition, the department is preparing an update to the Los Angeles County General Plan covering countywide elements such as land use, circulation, conservation and open space, housing, safety, and noise and community specific plans for other unincorporated areas.
Adopted Plans
Over the years, community, neighborhood and areas plans have been developed for various areas in the County. Here is a list of plans that have been approved by the Los Angeles County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) and adopted by the Board of Supervisors (BOS).

Streamlined General Plan
This Streamlined General Plan is intended to ease user access to key components of the County of Los Angeles General Plan. The text included herein is a brief summary of background materials plus full planning guidelines. The Goals and Policies of this Streamlined General Plan are those current to January, 1993. Note: The Streamlined General Plan was never adopted by the Board of Supervisors (BOS).
